The town lies on the left bank of the River Lech and has about 2,000 inhabitants. It is quiet and yet not far from the centre of Reutte. It has one of the most beautifully houses decorated with frescos in the region, the so-called 'Franzelinhaus'.
6 kilometres north-west of the regional capital Reutte and on the left bank of the River Lech lies the village of Musau. It has 330 inhabitants.
