The Lech is the oldest 'inhabitant' of our high-lying valley. Tamed and utilized, yet nevertheless full of natural power and crystal-clear, its fresh clean mountain water flows through the valley.
We should really make the river an 'honorary citizen' . The river's popularity can be summed up in the words of a duo of singers from the Lechtal valley: 'and I'd really like a constant affair with my old friend, the Lech'! (rough translation only!)
The Lech is one of the last rivers in Europe which is not fully regulated. Countless protected plants grow in the famous Lech riverside forest. The water quality is number 1*! And not only the Lech. Wherever you stroll through Reutte, fountains splash which you can drink from without a thought. Health from the lap of the Alps!
