Pflach

Pflach

Today Pflach has grown so much that it is almost a part of the regional capital Reutte. It lies to the north east at the foot of the distinctive mountain marking the border between the Tyrol and Bavaria, the 2,047 metre high 'Säuling'.

Pinswang

Pinswang

From Pflach you may drive to Pinswang via the the 'Kniepass' road. A prominent natural monument is the 'Burgschrofen' mountain which hides the so-called 'Schloss im Loch' ('Castle in a Hole'). This is the remains of a small 'fortress' built inside a cave, which has been beautifully restored.

Reutte

Vils

Vils

Vils is the only official 'town' (Reutte is a 'market town')in the Ausserfern district and lies at an altitude of 828 meres above sea level. It is situated in a lovely landscape between the mountains at the foot of the romantic castle ruins of Vilseck and Falkenstein.

Wängle

Wängle

The position of Wängle on a terrace above the valley shows that it is one of the oldest settlements of Reutte. The famous Baroque painter Franz Anton Zeiller painted his most famous and largest ceiling fresco in the Ausserfern in the Parish Church of St. Martin.
