Ski Resort Bergwelt Hahnenkamm

Every Tuesday, the classic evening route takes you up the Hahnenkamm via the red slope. At the top, two mountain huts, the Cilli Hütte (1.584 m) and the Singer Lodge (1.680 m) welcome you. Here, you can unwind after the ascent with warm drinks, a selection of specialties – from Tyrolean treats to burgers and pizza – and the cosy atmosphere of the huts.

Note: On Tuesdays, piste preparation starts at 22:00. Please leave the slope in time – afterwards, it is life-threatening due to the use of winches during piste grooming. Ski touring is not permitted here on any other days. Ski crampons are recommended in icy conditions.

  • When: Tuesday
  • Start/Finish: Bergwelt Hahnenkamm car park (charges apply)
  • Distance: 5 km (Cilli Hütte) | 5,9 km (Singer Lodge)
  • Elevation gain: 646 m (Cilli Hütte) | 720 m (Singer Lodge)
  • Difficulty: Moderate, with some steep slopes
  • Highlight: Two huts to choose from and breathtaking views of the valley basin

Ehenbichler Alm

For experienced ski tourers, the Ehenbichler Alm (1.694 m) is a true highlight. Instead of a groomed slope, a snow-covered forest track and open terrain take you through serene winter landscapes. The hut offers regional specialties and breathtaking views under the moonlight twice a week in the evenings for ski tourers.

Note: Follow the forest track to the “Rotbachwiese” junction, then keep right (left leads to avalanche risk). Continue across the Rotbachwiese and the forest track, and through open terrain to the hut. As the route is not regularly monitored, snow and avalanche conditions should be carefully checked before your tour.

  • When: Wednesday & Friday
  • Start/Finish: Rauth car park
  • Distance: approx. 7,5 km – 12 km, depending on the exact route
  • Elevation gain: 530 m
  • Difficulty: Moderate, forest road and open terrain, no ski slope ascent
  • Highlight: Overnight stay possible at the hut; also recommended as a snowshoe tour

Vilser Alm

When snow conditions are suitable, the Vilser Alm (1.226 m) also hosts evening ski tours. The ascent follows the winter hiking trail (forest road), which is also used for the descent.

Tip: Outside the ski tour evenings, a winter hike to Vilser Alm is worthwhile and can be done even with less snow. Spikes are recommended, as the trail can be icy.

  • When: Wednesday – only in suitable snow conditions. Dates will be announced as soon as there is enough snow.
  • Start/Finish: Vilser Alm car park
  • Distance: 6,6 km
  • Elevation gain: 348 m
  • Difficulty: Moderate, forest roads and open terrain, no ski slope ascent
  • Highlight: Overnight stay possible at the hut; also recommended as a winter hike or snowshoe tour

Safe and well prepared

  1. Observe dates & opening times: Weather-related changes may occur at any time.
  2. Increase visibility: Always wear a headlamp in the dark or in poor visibility.
  3. Be considerate: Keep to the side of the slope or trail when ascending. Watch out for uphill ski tourers when descending.
  4. Follow ski tour rules: Observe the general code of conduct for ski tourers.
  5. Protect the environment & wildlife: Respect quiet and protected areas. Avoid other tours in open terrain at dusk or at night – many animals use this time to feed.

Our tip:

With the guests Aktiv Card, you can take part in the programme “Fascination Snow and Its Dangers” free of charge. Learn how to read snow layers, assess avalanche risks, and use an avalanche transceiver correctly – the perfect preparation for your next winter adventure.
