12.08.2026 Austrian National Trials Team visits Vils

From 29 to 31 May 2026, part of the Austrian Trial National Team visited Vils for a training camp. The group included elite and junior riders, among them some of Austria’s most successful trial athletes – world champions, European Championship medallists, national champions, as well as promising young riders with experience at major international events.

Varied Training at Two Locations

Training took place in two sessions each day, both at the new Trial ON Cycling Club grounds at the Vils sports centre and at the Brosa Ranch. The conditions were perfect: great weather, highly motivated riders and plenty of training opportunities.

Training together like this is especially valuable for our sporting development, as it allows us to learn from one another, motivate each other and work on new techniques as a team.

A New Home for Bicycle Trials

A particular focus of the training camp was the new Trial ON club grounds. The club was only founded in spring 2026 and aims to establish bicycle trials sustainably in the region while giving children and young people an easy introduction to this extraordinary sport. Thanks to the support of many volunteers, numerous obstacles and training opportunities have already been created.

Spectacular Finale with a Trial Show

The weekend concluded on Sunday with a public trial show at the new club grounds. Although some of the national team riders had to leave early due to illness, the event was very well attended and the atmosphere among the spectators was fantastic.

Alongside the national team riders, Trial ON’s young athletes also had the opportunity to showcase their skills and demonstrate how much they had already learned over the past few months.

A high-jump contest added even more excitement, with the riders attempting to clear increasingly higher obstacles on their trial bikes. This part of the programme was a particular highlight for the spectators and featured plenty of spectacular jumps.

Trial ON provided drinks, coffee and cake, making the event a welcoming meeting place for visitors, athletes and anyone interested in the sport, even beyond the trial show itself.

Overall, the weekend was a great success for everyone involved. The training camp provided ideal conditions for the athletes to further develop their skills while also offering a great opportunity to introduce bicycle trials to a wider audience.

A special thank you goes to the Reutte Nature Park Region. Its support made it possible to organise the training camp in this form and helped make it an unforgettable weekend for athletes, volunteers and spectators alike.
