An 8-seater monocable gondola car brings you from Höfen (930 metres above sea level) in 10 minutes up to the mountain terminal (1,742 metres above sea level) on the Hahnenkamm mountain in the area of the Höfener Alm (alm – Alpine pasture). A wonderful panoramic view over the valley basin of Reutte and the mountain ranges of the Lechtal and Allgäu Alps as well as the Wetterstein peaks and the famous Zugspitze mountain opens up before you.
The mountain terminal, where you will also find a panoramic restaurant with a spacious sun terrace, is an ideal starting point for a variety of Alpine mountain hikes. The older generation and families with small children, quite safely and with little exertion, also have the opportunity to reach the loveliest mountain meadows and their mountain huts: the nearby Höfener Alm, Schneetal Alm, Lechaschauer Alm and Gehrenalm can easily be reached. The routes into the Tannheimer Tal and the Raintal valleys, or to the mountain hut on the Gimpel peak are popular one-day hiking tours.
A further attraction is the Alpine Barefoot Hiking Path, only 2 minutes away from the mountain terminal of Reutte’s cable car. 1.2 kilometres in length, it has 18 different stations, which loosen you up and give you a sense of well-being. A healthy activity for barefoot hikers and a lot of fun for the children!
Those mountain climbers with experience may climb up to the Gaichtspitze, the Gehrenspitze, the Köllenspitze, the Gimpel or the Rote Flüh peaks – just to name but a few of the difficult mountain destinations in this region. An annual ticket, summer season ticket or points card for paragliders enable you to glide in the Hahnenkamm region, Tannheim, Bach, Pfronten and Nesselwang. Whether young or old, experiencing all these activities in the most beautiful natural surroundings is made possible because of Reutte’s cable car and lifts!
