The Nature Park Region of Reutte – Gateway to Tyrol
The Nature Park Region with its 11 communities - Weissenbach, Höfen, Wängle, Ehenbichl, Lechaschau, Breitenwang, Reutte, Pflach, Musau, Pinswang and Vils, express a strong authenticity and also provide a fascinating natural and cultural experience at the foot of high mountain regions. Water as an element plays a major role in the holiday destinations in North Tyrol. As well as the second largest lake in the Tyrol, the Plansee lake, or the Lech, the last wild river of the Alps, there are innumerable other mountain lakes in the Nature Park Region – all of them with drinking water quality. Why not enjoy a cooling dip during the summer?
Surely the most well-known old Roman road, the Via Claudia Augusta, crosses the region and hints of an eventful history. The ‘Klause’ at Ehrenberg, previously a valley barrier and toll house, as well as the fortress ensemble Ehrenberg, Schlosskopf and Fort Claudia characterize the image of the region and make history tangible.
A further distinctive feature of the Nature Park Region Reutte lies in the fact that numerous internationally operating businesses have settled here. The region unites what at first glance seems irreconcilable: advanced technology exists side by side in harmony with nature and humankind.
