Nestled between the turquoise waters of the Lech River and the gentle slopes of the Hahnenkamm, the idyllic village of Höfen awaits. The Hahnenkamm cable car swiftly and comfortably transports visitors to the Hahnenkamm Mountain World. This expansive hiking area impresses with well-maintained high-altitude trails, blooming alpine meadows, and rustic mountain huts serving regional specialties. A particular highlight is the barrier-free Alpine Rose Garden, offering an up-close experience of alpine flora. The mountain lake on the Hahnenkamm invites visitors to relax and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views.

In winter, the area transforms into a family-friendly ski resort with 16 kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes and cozy huts for a delightful stopover. The newly constructed magic carpet at the base station provides ideal conditions for beginners.

Both the Lech Cycle Path and the long-distance hiking trail Lechweg pass through Höfen, leading outdoor enthusiasts into the stunning river landscape of the Alps' last wild river. Höfen is also home to the only airfield in the Außerfern region, offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore the area from a bird’s eye view. Aviation enthusiasts will appreciate the "Hangar SW" museum, which features rotating exhibitions and special events.

Culturally, Höfen shines with its historic Mariahilf Church, where visitors can admire the impressive ceiling fresco by local artist Joseph Anton Köpfle. Another sacred treasure is the Marienkapelle chapel on the Platten.

A key part of Höfen’s living traditions are the weekly Tyrolean evenings held in the Hahnenkammhalle during the summer. These lively events, featuring music, dance, and song performed by the Höfen Civic Brass Band and the traditional costume and heritage group, offer an authentic glimpse into Alpine customs.

Höfen is also renowned for its traditional autumn festivities, such as the Schafschied (sheep drive) and the grand Almabtrieb (cattle drive), where visitors can witness the deep bond between the locals and their natural surroundings.
